The RPSEN-IN is an indoor photodiode light-level sensor designed for use with a GE daylighting controller. A complete installation consists of the RPSEN-IN sensor paired with a remotely mounted RPCON controller. For typical installations, the sensor is wired to the controller using #20/4 low-voltage cable (Red, Black, Blue, White), commonly specified as ROSWIRE-4.
The RPSEN-IN and RPCON are engineered as a matched set to provide direct light-level readouts across a range of 10 to 100 footcandles. This range aligns with the lighting conditions normally encountered in office and classroom environments, allowing the daylighting system to accurately measure and respond to ambient light levels.
The sensor incorporates a Fresnel lens with a 60-degree cone of response, which helps reduce false readings caused by reflected daylight. It uses photodiode technology to deliver a linear response over the specified light range and provides direct readout of measured values. Installation is simplified with a ceiling-mounted design requiring only a 3/8-inch penetration, and the device operates using Class 2, 24 VAC low-voltage wiring.
Features:
- Fresnel lens with a 60° cone of response. (Reduces false triggering caused by daylighting reflected from the ground, which can cause false readings of the light levels on the task).
- Incorporates photodiode technology to allow linear response over a 10-100 fc range with direct readout of the measured light levels.
- Simple ceiling mount requires only a 3 /8" penetration hole in ceiling.
- Class 2, 24VAC low-voltage wiring.
