The RRDC12 Relay Driver Card is a core control module within the GE Lighting Total Lighting Control (TLC) system, designed to operate and monitor lighting relays in centralized and distributed lighting panels. Each RRDC12 manages a dedicated bank of 12 relay outputs and provides 3 programmable system switch inputs, allowing the card to function as both a local control interface and part of a larger, networked lighting control architecture.
In operation, the RRDC12 directly controls each connected relay based on input from wall switches, occupancy sensors, or system-level commands. The card continuously monitors pilot contacts for each relay, providing reliable feedback on actual relay status rather than assumed state. This feedback capability is essential for fault detection, system diagnostics, and maintaining accurate lighting status within the TLC system. For applications requiring higher load control, up to three relays may be wired in parallel and driven from a single RRDC12 output.
Designed with flexibility and serviceability in mind, the RRDC12 uses a plug-in modular configuration, simplifying installation, replacement, and system expansion. The programmable system switch inputs enable global or group control of relays across a networked TLC installation, supporting scheduling, overrides, and coordinated lighting behavior. This makes the RRDC12 well suited for commercial, institutional, and campus-scale lighting systems where reliability, scalability, and centralized control are critical.
